Overview
Built to the design of the renowned Japanese Deep Design Co, the Elken Elysyle Spa has been identified as one of the highest quality spas in Malaysia. With a gross floor area approaching 10,000 sq ft the spa’s services are comprehensive and the design incorporates a number of Zen architectural design principles. These include the waterfall in the registration area and the river-step feature in the central areas.
The Project
Included in the scope was the construction of rooms to cover the following services; counselling, VIP, general treatment, balneotherapy, hydro bath, cool down and skin care. These are served by changing rooms, lounges and spa product presentation areas.
Incorporating the spa into the Elken office building was a challenge in itself. Complex structural loading associated with the spa finishes and product were required. Furthermore, ISG created extensive structural upgrading of the building to accommodate live loads, while also providing for variable floor level requirements.
