Akira Back and Sobe MAIN - ISG

Commercial Interior Design has featured ISG’s prestigious fit out projects for Akira Back restaurant and Sobe lounge, two award-winning dining and entertainment destinations in Dubai.

ISG delivered the entire fit-out of both venues, including the procurement, supply, logistics and installation of the complete fixtures, fittings and equipment (FF&E) package.

Both projects are located on the fifth floor of the five-star hotel, W Dubai – The Palm, each featuring remarkable design elements within its own space, conceptualised by renowned interior design firm, Keane.

The article highlights the overall design philosophy of the projects, including the vast amount of bespoke detailing and the final outcome of the projects – conceived in a successful partnership between ISG and Keane.

The Japanese-Korean fine dining restaurant, Akira Back, saw ISG deliver a 17,000 sq ft high specification interior fit out that complements the Michelin-starred Chef’s culinary creations, bringing to the forefront modern dining, inspired by Dubai and beyond. ISG’s scope of works included the fit out of an open kitchen, a Sake tasting room, counter-top Robata Grill, a private dining room, expansive dining room along with feature installations, such as illuminated three-dimensional contoured clouds and the entrance, resembling a vortex leading guests into the main dining area.

As for the SoBe lounge, deemed “best new nightlife venue” by Time Out Dubai, saw ISG deliver the fit out of the 15,000 sq ft rooftop bar, inclusive of all luxurious finishes, highly customised furniture as well as the installation of kitchen and bar equipment. The elusive and luxurious interior embodies the iconic South Beach neighbourhood of Miami referencing the underground scenes, found in the back streets of the city.
