Introduction
In 2017, ISG was appointed by Al Sharq Investments to fit out a 17,000 sq ft Japanese-Korean fine dining restaurant, Akira Back Restaurant, located within W Hotel The Palm in Dubai.
Situated on the fifth floor of the hotel, The restaurant bears the namesake of the chef who owns it. To match the exquisite menu the restaurant offers, the restaurant demanded an interior that acts as a showcase to Akira Back's creations while taking guests on a journey beyond Dubai.
The project
We delivered a scope of works which included an open kitchen, a Sake tasting room, counter-top Robata Grill, a private dining room, expansive dining room along with feature installations, such as illuminated three-dimensional contoured clouds and the entrance, which resembles a vortex leading guests into the main dining area
Following a 19-week programme, the restaurant was completed ahead of it's official opening in January 2019.
