Introduction
ISG successfully completed a full design and build, turn-key project for Yondr Group, a global developer, owner-operator and service provider of data centres, creating a vibrant and modernistic workplace that is just as transformative as the company’s business purpose – to deliver complex data centre capacity needs for the world’s largest tech companies.Yondr’s new office is strategically located in the heart of Shenton Way, Singapore’s bustling financial district. Previously occupying a serviced office, Yondr saw the need to set up its own office in Singapore as the group scales up its business operations across the Asia Pacific region.
The space welcomes visitors with a vibrant and inviting reception cum breakout area equipped with presentation facilities, a boardroom, meeting rooms with operable walls, an open-concept general office area complete with adjustable tables, full pantry facilities, and a new dedicated server room.
The project
With the initial design intent, concept, and material selection provided by Wolf Studio, ISG produced the early interior design drawings and subsequent MEP drawings and measurements at each completion stage of the project.This includes lux calculations, light fittings, load calculations, auxiliary air-conditioning, security, data cabling, and IT/AV installations, delivering a highly functional and connected workplace with a strong brand design focus – handing over a fully operational office in move-in condition.
Yondr’s brand visual identity is highly visible across the entire office through the strategic application of corporate brand colours, elements, graphics, and symbols applied tastefully with outstanding interior design features. Facing the cosy open pantry, a specially constructed 3D tiered seating with calculated angles and protrusions at the breakout area creates an energetic and collaborative setting for employees.
A designed open ceiling has all services exposed and maintained in their original form through precise and tidy installations by ISG, purposefully done to complete the raw and bare industrial theme of the workplace. Passing the entrance, another suspending metal ceiling with intuitive graphics draws visitors’ attention toward the inner office, creating a fun and dynamic setting that pays homage to Yondr’s vision at the same time.
“Yondr has exacting global standards for corporate branding. Their teams are based in two different continents so coordinating across three time zones was a challenge. We also incorporated feng shui elements into the workplace design, which entailed the repositioning of desks, number of lights, strategic placement of colours, and other auspicious elements across the office.
While there were challenges, our team was delighted to be able to welcome Yondr employees to a live and fully operational workplace complete with a well-stocked pantry on the official handover date.”
