Introduction
An International Financial Services Company in Singapore was seeking a new workplace of an appropriate size and location to bring its employees from two separate office all together under one roof. ISG tapped into its wealth of delivery experience in Grade A buildings locally to support The Instant Group, an end to end workplace solutions provider, in identifying a suitable location and size; delivering an unmatched design and build workplace solution that is agile, connected and highly ergonomic.
What we did
This project consists of a design and build internal structural steel staircase, a three-storey high integrated green wall connecting three floors of office space, and installation of critical IT infrastructure. The townhall space complete with private booths and operable doors can be converted to two 12-pax meeting cum training rooms when required. This space expands into the pantry area with the connecting staircase.
Other areas include a rest and relax room, touchdown areas running along the workstation perimeters facing the city skyline and beautiful waterfront, 26 convertible private VP offices cum meeting rooms, and a reception area complete with a self-sustaining moss wall.
These features come together to create a highly connected, social-first and agile workspace that adapts to fluctuations in occupancy, the shifting demands of remote working, and the evolving needs for in-person collaboration between teams.
Making it happen
The Covid-19 pandemic affected the sequence of work onsite and the deployment of manpower and resources. However, ISG was able to develop and implement an accelerated project delivery process to complete the full office fit out covering over 47,000 sq ft across three levels in a record duration of just 19 weeks.
The International Financial Services Company had specially requested that the connecting staircase overlook the pantry area, and the extended social space furnished with private booths, lounge chairs, and convertible meeting rooms. To create this unobstructed view, ISG reworked the existing M&E services, lifting them upwards to achieve a higher finished ceiling level.
Making a difference
The high-quality office fit out lays the foundation for an environmentally-friendly workplace, highlighted by the three-storey connecting staircase surrounding a living green wall with over 3,200 plants – contributing to improved air quality and visual softening of the office environment.
The workplace is currently in the process of attaining the coveted Green Mark Gold Plus accreditation inclusive of an innovative IOT IAQ system which yields energy savings.
