Introduction

The international telecommunications company and operator of the largest cloud services platform in Europe, Interoute, acquired an established office building in Madrid to host its main datacentre. The fit out of the building was implemented by CBRE (as asset managers), Diadec (for the office fit out) and Emerald (for the datacentre installation).

For their offices, several adjustments and reinforcements of the structure of the building were required to meet the specific design requested by the client. In addition, work was done to improve access and common areas, as well as work to the reception area, toilets, decoration, finishes, furnishings and installations.

For their datacentre, the management and execution of the construction work was carried out by Emerald. The datacentre has a total of 1,006 sq m of equipment, with 369 racks and more than 1 Megawatts of total electrical power

The project

Due to the collaborative effort shown by the project team and the maintenance department, all of the needs of the client were met. We implemented actions which helped to improve the conditions at the facility. Thanks to this, Interoute continue to rely on Diadec and Emerald for their ongoing office or datacentre needs.

 Our main challenge was to carry out both projects simultaneously in a relatively short space of time.
