The development partners behind ISG’s £33 million student accommodation scheme on Ecclesall Road in Sheffield gathered to pour the last concrete beam as the building reached its highest point.

The ceremony marked an important milestone for the 586-bed student accommodation block, which Bradford-based contractor ISG is delivering for global developer and operator, Valeo Management, which will operate the building under its new LIV STUDENT brand.

Now reaching 14 storeys at its highest elevation, the concrete frame is complete, with work progressing on the interior finishes.

A marketing suite showcasing a studio and cluster apartment, social spaces and virtual reality tours is already open and can be accessed from Harrow Street.

The student accommodation, which will open for the start of the new academic year, is Valeo Management’s first in the UK and second under the LIV STUDENT brand.

Peter Haspel, CEO for Valeo Management, commented: “We're delighted to be partnering with ISG to deliver game changing purpose-built student accommodation to Sheffield.

“We believe students expect and deserve more, which is why our LIV STUDENT brand has been thoughtfully designed with the student experience and design at its heart.”

Tim Harvey, regional director for ISG, said: “The global popularity of our higher education institutions sees demand at record levels for places and high-quality student accommodation at our top universities.

“Sheffield is no different and, in this project, you can see Valeo Management’s vision for the building coming to life, with a high-specification design on offer for everyone to see in the marketing suite.”

In a strategic location close to the two Sheffield universities, students will benefit from design-led social and living spaces finished to a high specification and spacious communal facilities, including a ninth-floor social hub complete with sky garden and roof terrace overlooking the city and the Peak District beyond.

The entire ninth floor is dedicated to the student community as social space and includes a lounge, study spaces, a student only cafe, communal dining areas and kitchen, cinema and games room, a gym and a first for Sheffield - a permanent karaoke booth.

The ninth-floor hub will be activated throughout the academic year with a series of engaging and educational event programming.

Accommodation is configured around four, five and six-bed clusters, as well as a number of studio apartments, all with en-suite facilities.

All bedrooms will enjoy super-fast free Wi-Fi, USB charging points, double beds, blackout curtains and lots of storage.

LIV STUDENT Sheffield was designed by Valeo Management to provide students with an outstanding residential experience not available anywhere else in Sheffield.
