ISG named as contractor for new Cardiff University building
We have been named as contractor for Cardiff University’s new purpose-built computer science and mathematics building.
ISG has been named as contractor for Cardiff University’s new purpose-built computer science and mathematics building.
The plans, which have been approved by Cardiff City Council, will bring together the School of Computer Science and Informatics (COMSC) and the School of Mathematics (MATHS) into one world-leading facility.
The building on Senghennydd Road will support the growth of both departments and provide opportunities for greater collaboration and research.
It has been designed by the South Wales studio of national practice Stride Treglown with renowned design studio, Adjaye Associates.
The University confirmed that ISG had been identified as the contractor for the project.
Professor Rudolf Allemann, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Head of the College of Physical Sciences and Engineering, said: “We are looking forward to progressing our plans with contractor ISG.
“This is a fantastic opportunity that will benefit our staff and students, substantially improve the student experience and enhance our cutting-edge research.
“Both Schools are expanding their student numbers so this will enable us to accommodate the growth in a modern, bespoke building, as well as supporting innovative joint degree schemes.
“Bringing together the two Schools will also allow us to develop new research in cyber security, artificial intelligence and data science, areas that are of major importance to society.”
