Completed last year, BHP Billiton’s Singapore office clinched the prestigious Green Mark Award 2020 (Platinum) for Occupant-Centric Schemes, the highest rating achievable for this category which besides assessing green-related requirements, also evaluates the office environment, workplace health and well-being.

As the main contractor, ISG in Singapore completed the fit out for the new 75,000sqft office which spans three levels at Marina Bay Financial Towers, an integrated development in Singapore’s vibrant downtown business district. Green products certified by the Singapore Green Building Council were used extensively during the renovation, with lush greenery strategically placed within working areas.

To reduce consumption, an energy efficient LED lighting system controlled by motion sensors and daylight sensors was deployed throughout the office together with submetering of energy uses to gain a better understanding of energy usage patterns.

Motion sensors and thermostats control the air distribution system for meeting rooms with acoustical considerations made to minimize unwanted noise to adjacent spaces.

To promote wellness, employees are also encouraged to interact and engage in physical activity by climbing the internal connecting staircase between Level 17 and 18.

This achievement is a testament of ISG’s firm commitment to deliver unbeatable environmentally sustainable spaces that improves performance and well-being, and support our clients in achieving their sustainable business goals.
