Our graduates have worked on some of the most innovative and cutting-edge projects within the construction industry, helping them to develop the knowledge and skills to fast track their career at ISG. Learning from industry experts, they are given hands on experience and a supportive taught syllabus to help them to develop and understand all aspects of ISG.
Our two-year, award-nominated programme will see you completing rotations across ISG in year one, and settling into your specialism in year two. Designed in-house by ISG’s business experts, our programme will give you the breadth and depth of understanding ISG and how all of our business units work together to be leaders in the industry.
During the programme, you will complete four to five rotations in the initial 16 months of the programme. These are across our core areas (quantity surveying, construction management, winning work, and technical/building services), as well as giving you the option to complete rotations in other areas such as sustainability, health and safety, and design management. During the final nine months of the programme, you will be focusing on your specialised area, where you will apply your knowledge of all parts of the business to ensure the projects you manage are dynamic, customer focused and delivered on time. During these rotations, you will get hands on experience on live projects, work alongside industry leading experts, and with high profile customers to deliver impactful and lasting projects with long-term, collaborative relationships.
Alongside your rotations, you will also have a taught syllabus and technical workshop programme, which will give you the knowledge and skills to grow and develop your career at ISG. This is supported by a development record and a dedicated supervisor to help consolidate your understanding and provide you with mentorship and career coaching.
We currently offer all graduates the opportunity to develop in the following specialisms:

This includes considering heating, ventilation, air conditioning and public health services. You will manage the different aspects of the mechanical and electrical systems that are required to ensure the building is fully operational, including managing the installation, test and commissioning processes to ensure the building is delivered to the relevant standards, guidelines and specifications.
This role would be ideal for those with a technical mindset and background in either mechanical or electrical engineering. You will be a strong team player, liaising between the client, contractors and supply chain to ensure the work is done and at the best cost for both ISG and the customer. You will be able to build effective relationships quickly and have strong communication skills, with the ability to influence and tailor messages to different stakeholders.
As a quantity surveyor at ISG, you will work closely with the quantity surveyors on site to help manage and track the commercial aspects of the project. A key part of this role is to utilise your relationship and influencing skills to negotiate and consider the financial implications of the project, for both ISG and our customer. Each day will be different. You’ll be negotiating costs on the project with sub-contractors, through to producing value reports and supporting any client changes to the project, while ensuring our delivery is on time and profitable. This role would be ideal for those who have a passion and interest for numbers and problem solving. You will be analytically minded and able to influence without authority to ensure the best outcome is reached for the customer and ISG. Being a good team player and able to build effective relationships quickly is also an advantage.
As a Construction site manager at ISG, you will work closely with the site project team to ensure all site works are planned and completed in line with the programme for the project. You will be responsible for ensuring that all work is delivered to the highest quality, maintaining excellent client satisfaction levels and upholding health and safety standards on site. A key part of this role is liaising with a wide number of stakeholders and contractors, ensuring that works are completed safely and to plan. When projects face delays, you will be required to work with the client to keep them informed and offer an alternative solution.
This role would be ideal for those who are highly organised and like working to deadlines. You will have excellent communication skills, able to tailor communications to different stakeholders as appropriate, and have a passion for supporting the management of large projects. The ability to influence decisions and solve any issues quickly and calmly is also an advantage.
