The Project

ISG's major refurbishment of the Royal Festival Hall saw the auditorium of the Grade I listed building undergo significant remodelling. This delivered improved facilities, better building acoustics and 35% additional space to public areas.

To help retain the building’s unique character ISG reused as many of the existing finishes and materials as possible. Although much of the timber and stone used in the original building was no longer available, material was salvaged where possible and specialist suppliers were sourced. The scheme won the Conservation Award at the British Construction Industry Awards.
