Overview

One of the newest additions to Westminster dining scene is the Blue Boar Smokehouse & Bar in the InterContinental Hotel. Fitted out to deliver an American inspired British dining experience, the finished environment is one that fits this concept whilst maintaining the hotel’s high quality finish.

The Project

The specifications for the restaurant included seating for approximately 100 diners. It also includes two private dining rooms for 10 that could be joined together to seat 20 and a private drinking room. The space was set aside within the footprint of the hotel and required the implementation of some significant structural changes.

The finish was designed as a subtle cross between an American steakhouse and a traditional British gastro pub. The result is a mixture of natural materials and traditional fixtures. The end result is a space that fits the status of the hotel and adds to the atmosphere of the restaurant. Special design touches abound, such as the private dining rooms hidden behind floor-to-ceiling wine coolers.
