Overview

ISG was awarded the multi-million pound design and build project for the Queensgate Shopping Centre in Peterborough by Hammerson. The complex scheme involved the creation of a new 60,000 sq ft Primark unit across two floors of the centre, as well as a three-storey extension to the new retail unit.

The Project

The new build extension was designed to mirror the architecture of the existing centre featuring a brick façade and mansard roof structure. The extension was built over an existing service ramp, with access maintained for deliveries & customer collections throughout the project duration. The end result was well received by the retailer, who commented that “ISG performed extremely well under unexpected situations.” Additionally the project was recognised with a Considerate Constructors Scheme National Bronze Award.
