Introduction

ISG completed the concession store, James Martin Kitchen, for the well-known TV chef. We fitted out the second James Martin Kitchen inside Debenhams at the intu Lakeside Shopping Centre.

The store forms a part of SSP’s portfolio of concession brands and aims to provide fresh, locally sourced food on the go.

The project

The works took place in a live shopping centre environment, with certain tasks having to take place out of hours. 

Each morning the hoarding had to be removed and re-installed. This enabled the team to work on the bulkhead. As the works took place in a shopping centre, the team needed to make sure that we had the required permits.

The fit out took place in an empty concession on the first floor of intu Lakeside. The works consisted of the installation of new partitions, ceilings, ceramic tiling, HVAC, lighting and whiterock cladding. 

We installed various joinery items, made in-house at our workshop in Whitstable. The team also project managed the various direct contractors involved with the project. We completed the works in just four weeks, allowing the store to be open in time for Christmas trading.
