Ambulance Station, Newmarket, UK

A flagship design, delivered by ISG, for new ambulance stations in East Anglia.
Newmarket Ambulance

The Project

This project was for the construction of a new ambulance station. It was procured on a design & build basis with the client’s input, and became a flagship design for new ambulance stations in East Anglia.

The works comprised the construction of a steel frame with reinforced concrete floor slab and foundations. The external walls are partially of faced brick and block cavity with profiled metal cladding. There are three large roller doors at the front leading to the internal parking bays.

Externally there are wash down areas and block paved driveways with paving slabs around the outside leading to doors, and there is a canopy covering a Quick Response Bay. The contract was finished to the highest standard and was handed over before the contract completion date.

Award-winning

The project was awarded a Class ‘A’ Craftsmanship Award for Best New Building by the Suffolk Association of Architects. The judging panel commented: The synergy between the careful detailing of 'standard components' and the on-site execution has resulted in a new build of outstanding merit.”

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your efforts on this project. The project was run efficiently and effectively with the result that it was completed ahead of programme and to a high standard of workmanship. Special mention should be made of the site manager and contracts manager who both performed very well and were always helpful.”
