The Project

We’re currently undertaking phase one of a major urban regeneration project in the historic docklands area of Ipswich, bringing new homes and commercial accommodation to the town. The initial contract focuses on the delivery of 149 affordable and ExtraCare homes on the disused brownfield site. The full scheme will see the creation of 386 homes.

The mixed tenure scheme features 25 terraced town houses and three blocks of flats, including ExtraCare supported accommodation. The properties are mostly concrete framed, with the exception of the 25 town houses, one of the blocks of flats and the uppermost floors of the other blocks, which are timber framed.

Sustainability

As part of our commitment to the local supply chain and support of the skills and expertise of quality regional businesses and tradespeople, we held an open day at the start of the project to discuss the range of opportunities available to key suppliers on this major project. We have also organised various site visits by local educational establishments, to improve understanding of the construction industry and the various roles of employment it has to offer.

The project is set to achieve a Code for Sustainable Homes 'Level 3' environmental rating.
