OverviewAn established and successful relationship with the client led to ISG being selected for this design and build project. Working from a specific model, the highly sustainable school and multi-purpose centre are the benchmark for the new community development
The ProjectThe primary school is a single storey steel-framed structure, featuring a brickwork and render façade, aluminium frame windows and a standing seam metal roof. The building comprises 14 classrooms, a school hall and a nursery, all of which are naturally ventilated.
Generous amounts of glazing and raked ceilings give a feeling of spaciousness and provide high levels of natural light. The project included significant landscaping to create playground and car parking areas along with new pathways and retaining works to protect and enhance an existing copse and pond at the site.
ISG also constructed the new multi-purpose community centre adjacent to the school. The majority of the structure is of a single-storey design, with two-storey office accommodation and a large sports hall. It mirrors the architectural finishes of the school and has been designed to offer flexible accommodation to suit a variety of needs.
