Manchester Corn Exchange up for North West Property Award

ISG’s £13million refurbishment project at Manchester Corn Exchange is up for Commercial Refurbishment of the Year at the North West Property Awards.

Heritage works in a city centre location posed a number of challenges for our team in the North West as they transformed the iconic Corn Exchange into a 114-bedroom, four-star boutique aparthotel for operators Roomzzz.

Working alongside architects 5Plus, the team worked around the clock to uncover the Grade-II listed building’s former grandeur, completing the project on time and budget for the client, Aviva Investment Property Trust, and developer, Queensbury Real Estate.

Dating back to 1903, the Corn Exchange sits in one of the busiest shopping areas in Manchester with 13 live brands on the ground floor.

Given its location and proximity to the Metrolink, lean project management, community engagement and comprehensive logistics planning was paramount to the project’s success.

The North West Property Awards will take place on Thursday 16 May at Manchester Central.

Manchester Corn Exchange has been shortlisted for a number of upcoming awards, including Construction News and the North West Regional Constructing Excellence Awards.
