Let the celebrations commence with 12 Considerate Constructors Scheme awards

The UK’s most considerate sites have been revealed at the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) National Site Awards 2019 with ISG taking home a total of 12 awards: one Gold, three Silver and eight Bronze.

Winning a National Site Award is an exceptional achievement and recognises those sites that have made the greatest contribution towards improving the image of construction.

Awards were presented to our UK Fit Out, UK Construction and Engineering Services businesses, with the CCS site monitors commenting on the high standards across our ISG sites.

Two great examples of this can be seen below on our UK Construction North’s Wynyard C of E Primary School project in Stockton-on-Tees and our UK Construction West’s Plot 3, Central Square project in Cardiff. 

On the gold-award winning Wynyard C of E School scheme, the assessor said: “For a relatively small contract, this site is meeting all of the aims and objectives embodied in the scheme’s code of considerate practice.

"The site looks amazingly well, and the finished product will be a credit to all associated with it.

"The team are going out of their way to not only harmonise with the neighbours; but are heavily involved with the children for whom the school is being built, and the local community – terrific!

"Regarding the workforce, it is good to see that mental health awareness is moving towards the top of the list in terms of workforce welfare.

"This site is brilliant, and I would particularly like to thank the team for a very interesting and informative morning.”

On the silver-award winning Plot 3, Central Square project the assessor noted: “The extremely high standards continue to be apparent on this project.

"A positive image of the industry is presented throughout the site and welfare areas, and community engagement continues at the highest levels.

"The care and support of the workforce is likewise very apparent and safety and environmental management is given high priority.

"Training and opportunities for new people to join the industry are promoted and encouraged very well.

"The site team deserves great credit for the consistently high standards being achieved and a proactive attitude of continuously striving for improvement.”
