In a year that has challenged us more than ever before, our people have responded by showing inspirational creativity, innovation and care. It’s this ethos and dedication that has seen ISG named Building Magazine’s Major Contractor of the Year (over £300m).

The judges recognised that ISG is different; committed to transforming the industry – evident this year in the collaborative response to managing the impact of the pandemic. Investing in the future holds the key – through technology, the next generation and societal footprint.

ISG’s CEO, Paul Cossell, said: “Our people and supply chain partners have risen to the challenge of Covid-19. It is very easy to go backwards in times of crisis but our people have done the opposite, going over and above to manage the impact of the pandemic on our own teams, clients and communities, offering more support, services and knowledge sharing than ever before.”

ISG’s teams continue to live by the promise to ‘Choose health. Choose safe’, extending the invitation to the wider industry and client teams. A collaborative effort to develop safe operating solutions resulted in the creation of a site app that we have shared with Build UK for the benefit of the wider industry.

Understanding the challenge that the education sector was experiencing in re-opening schools and colleges, we also worked with the Vale of Glamorgan Council to develop a bespoke app to support education leadership teams, which was rolled out across 60 schools, and is also being adapted for additional client partners.

Paul Cossell added: “We continue to build our community in the wake of Covid-19 and how we thrive in times of crisis will determine not only the places we create, but the lives we improve and the legacy we leave. This award is a testament to our brilliant team, and it is deserved recognition that they have been named as the best in the industry.”
