Five finalist places for ISG projects in Scottish Property Awards 2020

ISG’s work in the hospitality and leisure sector in Scotland has been recognised this week, with projects receiving no less than five finalist spots in the 2020 Scottish Property Awards.

Four ISG projects have been nominated across four awards, with three battling it out against each other in one of the categories:

Regeneration Project of the Year

• Holyrood Distillery (submitted by ISG)
• The Registers (submitted by client The Chris Stewart Group
• Botanic Gardens Garage, 24 Vinicombe Street (submitted by client Arnold Clark Automobiles and partners Keppie Design

Development of the Year (Commercial Buildings)

• Market Street Hotel (submitted by client The EDI Group and partners jmarchitects)

Architectural Excellence Award (Commercial Use)

• Market Street Hotel (submitted by partners jmarchitects)

In an entry compiled by ISG, the Holyrood Distillery scheme saw the renovation of a 184-year-old category-B listed building into the first single malt distillery in Edinburgh for almost 100 years on behalf of customer Newmake Ltd.

Work saw ISG cement the future of the long-disused site for generations to come, reconfiguring the existing three-storey building to create a full-height distillery across three floors plus visitor and event spaces, operations areas and staff amenities to the front. 
The Market Street Hotel and West Register schemes in Edinburgh and Botanic Gardens Garage on Vinicombe Street in Glasgow all saw ISG transform heritage sites into top hospitality and commercial offerings in Scotland’s two main cities.

Having beaten off competition from more than 80 entries from across the country, ISG and project partners will now head to a glittering awards evening at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre on 20 February, hoping for the chance to claim ‘best in the country’ status.

The Scottish Property Awards recognises the best in Scottish real estate and sees 18 industry experts review and consider entries from across a range of public and commercial sectors. Now in its seventh year, over 60 businesses put their projects or their teams forward for a 2020 award.
