Cambridge office takes flight by hosting first Supply Chain Breakfast

Taking place on Thursday 21 November, our preferred supply chain members and senior leaders across Engineering Services attended the inaugural Supply Chain Breakfast for the recently opened Cambridge office.

‘Stronger together’ – the theme from the UK Supply Chain awards conference held earlier this year – took flight and was exemplified throughout the event. Hosted at the Imperial War Museum (IWM) in Duxford – an aviation museum that houses nearly 200 aircraft, military vehicles and artillery – our senior engineering leadership team, led by Chris Chappell, shared our vision, strategy for 2020 and how we can work together to provide the best customer experience in the industry.

With over 100 attendees, the morning kicked off with breakfast under the wings of ancient aircrafts and moved swiftly into the presentation. Sam Nunn, procurement and supply chain manager, welcomed guests and shared the benefits of working closer together.

Lee Hutchinson, managing director for science and health, then introduced the leadership team and shared achievements from 2019 before Chris Chappell, divisional director for ISG’s Cambridge Cluster, discussed the pipeline for 2020 and beyond, shedding light on our new group health and safety programme, ‘Choose Safe. Choose Health’ .

Chris commented: “It was great to see so many of our supply chain members come together and attend. I believe a successful company has a supply chain that aligns with our values and goals, and this was a huge opportunity to share our goals and vision with our preferred suppliers.”

The event ended with a networking session and guests were invited to walk through the same hangars and buildings as those who served at RAF Duxford, watch aircraft take to the skies from the airfield that Spitfires first flew and get up close to over a century of aviation.
