Business Graduates and Apprentices

Our Business Early Careers Programme allows you to start your career in an Entry Level role in your chosen department. We have developed a bespoke programme for each department designed to give you the opportunity to truly understand your core specialism and focus on developing the specific skills needed to become the expert you aspire to be.

Looking to join ISG on our Graduate Business Programme we have opportunities in our: Finance, Sustainability, Social Value, Bids and Proposals and Legal teams. Finance

Our three-year scheme will give you an unrivalled opportunity to fast-track your career in finance. You will learn from the best whilst being supported in your CIMA chartered accounting qualification. We make sure you have the opportunity to work on some of our most innovative and challenging projects, developing your knowledge of the industry and supporting you in realising your full potential.

Over the three years you will complete 8 rotations and will rotate through all areas of our Finance teams, both in our Head Office functions and business facing finance teams. You will have support from a supervisor and a buddy and will network and socialise with your peers by joining our Operational Graduates on their taught programme of learning to help you on your journey towards chartership. From the outset you will be encouraged to share your ideas and to challenge the norm – if you think there's a better way of doing things, we'll be all ears.

Social Value

Our two-year scheme will give you an unrivalled opportunity to fast-track your career in Social Value. You will support our Social Value team to create opportunities for social, economic and community benefits that make a real difference to the communities in which we operate. We make sure you have the opportunity to work on some of our most innovative and challenging projects, developing your knowledge of the industry and supporting you in realising your full potential.

Over the two years you will learn how to drive change by delivering or being part of a team delivering ISG’s ESG strategy and individual project Social Value. You will rotate around your Business Unit, gaining experience across a range of different roles, approaching them all through the lens of Social Value. You will work with internal and external stakeholders often across multiple sites and functions to deliver cohesive and meaningful impacts at a local, national and global level. Every day will be different with you often working on multiple initiatives at the same time such as managing project fundraising, working in schools, helping our supply chain deliver social value. You will have support from a supervisor and a buddy and will network and socialise with your peers by joining our Operational Graduates on their taught programme of learning to help you on your journey. From the outset you will be encouraged to share your ideas and to challenge the norm – if you think there's a better way of doing things, we'll be all ears.

Sustainability

Our two-year scheme will give you an unrivalled opportunity to fast-track your career in Sustainability. You will support our Sustainability team in applying sustainable principles and practices within your Business Units and sites and help develop new initiatives to ensure ISG delivers on our “Right Thing First” strategy. We make sure you have the opportunity to work on some of our most innovative and challenging projects, developing your knowledge of the industry, and supporting you in realising your full potential.

Over the two years you will learn how to drive change by understanding how the different disciplines in construction work together to deliver a project, before supporting the delivery of ISG’s ESG strategy and individual project sustainability targets. You will rotate around your Business Unit, gaining experience across a range of different roles, approaching them all through the lens of sustainability. You will work with internal and external stakeholders often across multiple sites and functions to deliver cohesive and meaningful impacts at a local, national and global level. You will have support from a supervisor and a buddy and will network and socialise with your peers by joining our Operational Graduates on their taught programme of learning to help you on your journey. From the outset you will be encouraged to share your ideas and to challenge the norm – if you think there's a better way of doing things, we'll be all ears.

Proposals

Our two-year scheme will give you an unrivalled opportunity to fast-track your career in our Proposals team. You will support our teams in managing and creating content for high quality submissions for competitive tenders for a wide range of projects across ISG. You will learn from the best whilst being supported in your APMP qualification. We make sure you have the opportunity to work on some of our most innovative and challenging projects, developing your knowledge of the industry and supporting you in realising your full potential.

Over the two years you will complete rotations in all areas of Winning Work; Proposals, Bid Management, Estimating, Planning and Digital Construction with opportunities to spend time on site. You will have support from a supervisor and a buddy and will network and socialise with your peers by joining our Operational Graduates on their taught programme of learning to help you on your journey. From the outset you will be encouraged to share your ideas and to challenge the norm – if you think there's a better way of doing things, we'll be all ears.

Legal

Our two-year scheme will give you an unrivalled opportunity to train as a solicitor and fast-track your legal career within the construction industry. Being a successful construction lawyer requires more than just legal training: you’ll need an in depth understanding of how the industry operates and how a tier 1 contractor does business. You will learn from the best supporting our legal team in enabling success through smart thinking, a service culture and embedding yourself within the core strategies of the business.

You will complete rotations in all areas of our business rotating around Construction, Fit Out and Engineering teams. You will have exposure to a wide range of legal practice areas such as contract; property; commercial; intellectual property; insurance; and dispute resolution. You will have support from a training principal, supervisor and a buddy and will have the opportunity to network and socialise with your peers and external law firms at a range of events throughout the programme. You will join our Operational Graduates on their taught programme of learning to help you on your journey towards being a successful construction lawyer and will complete external courses to enable you to successfully complete the SQE.
