What role can education estates play in building sustainable societies?

We know we can’t afford to slow down in our efforts to build sustainable societies that promise value and equity for all. Despite increasing pressures our collective pace must not stall – the cost of inaction outweighs all other considerations.
So, can we pull together the brightest minds to reimagine a brighter future?
One year on from the publication of our ground-breaking Sustainable Buildings Monitor research report, which shone a light on where we were on our journey to charting a net zero legacy for our cities, towns and communities, what’s next? We are now setting out to reimagine how we measure and create value of our estates, using a model that replaces redundant, purely financial metrics – where value is instead determined holistically, by true societal benefit and outcomes.

We’ll also be excitedly awaiting the announcement of the Education Estates Awards on 18 October, where we are shortlisted in five categories. In addition to Contractor of the Year, we’ve also got four project shortlists: STEAM Academy at Bridgend College; South Point Primary School, Barry; the SEND Schools Programme for Manchester City Council and Chelveston Road School, Rushden.
