Open Doors 2023 - Showcasing the opportunities construction has to offer
ISG recently took part in the Open Doors Week 2023, opening the doors to seven UK projects, our Aldgate head office, and our Cardiff office to help inspire those interested in a career in construction.Â
ISG recently took part in the Open Doors Week 2023, opening the doors to seven UK projects, our Aldgate head office, and our Cardiff office to help inspire those interested in a career in construction.

Delivered by Build UK, in partnership with the CITB (under the banner of Go Construction) and in association with the Considerate Constructors Scheme and Building magazine, the industry-wide Open Doors initiative goes behind the site hoarding to showcase the fantastic range of careers available in construction. This year’s event ran from 13-18 March 2023.
Welcoming prospective early careers talent, people considering a career change and those with a keen interest in construction, ISG’s seven project sites were spread across the UK and covered a variety of sectors. From Millennium Bridge House, a major low carbon mixed-use office redevelopment in London, to the Hough End Sports Village in Manchester, attendees across the UK had the opportunity to gain invaluable experience in understanding the full project lifecycle. The journey of constructing a building extended to the thinking behind the innovative design process, the key job roles involved and the types of skills that are needed for a career in the built environment.
Whilst ISG showcased the important site roles they have across their projects, it also opened its doors to their head office in Aldgate, London and for the first time, Cardiff, Wales. Featuring a presentation and a tour of the office space, the visit provided an in-depth insight into the wide range of jobs within the business and that support the successful delivery of our projects. It also gave the attendees an opportunity to see a live workspace and to experience first hand a day in the life of head office.
Jane O’Leary, Sector Director for Education, at ISG said, “The Open Doors initiative provides a fantastic opportunity to showcase the breadth of roles the construction industry has to offer. By opening our doors to both sites across the UK and our offices, we can shape the future of construction by making it more inclusive for all job types and skillsets.”
