Introduction

Nestled deep in the English countryside lies the 4-star country estate hotel, Wotton House. The former manor house come luxurious hotel boasts sophisticated sleeping and leisure facilities, dressed in quintessentially British décor.

The boutique hotel also offers 13-acres of outdoor space, sprawling across some of Surrey’s most sought-after countryside views.

What we did

Completed across six phases in 2016, the £4m refurbishment saw ISG renovating of 92 bedrooms, the main restaurant and reception areas; whilst simultaneously converting the existing conference rooms into 16 master bedrooms.

Taking place in a live environment involved meticulous planning and phasing to ensure that all bedrooms were handed over on time, and without compromising the hotel’s request to keep a certain number of bedrooms available at all times. Being an open hotel, keeping disruption to a minimum, so as not to disturb guests or negatively impact their staycation experience, was essential.

Adding value every step of the journey

Winning the work off the back of the successful, snag-free completions of two of the client’s previous projects, required the same level of quality to be replicated at Wotton House.

With ISG hitting the mark and delivering on this high standard of quality, the client team at the Principal Hotel Company were very complimentary of the standard of the finish across the delivery of each phase – particularly given that the ISG team had to manage the challenges of delivering in a live environment.

This could not have been achieved without the open communication between ISG and the client team, hosting daily meetings to present the plan for the day’s works. Working in partnership to find the most efficient ways to allow the hotel to continue with business as usual, without compromising the design of the space.
