ADAA MAIN5 - ISG

Introduction

ISG was appointed by the Abu Dhabi Accountability Authority (ADAA), to fit out their new 65,000 sq ft headquarters located in the United Square Towers, a new mixed-used development in Abu Dhabi.

ADAA was established as an independent body in 2008 under the authority of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. A decade following its establishment, ADAA oversees 300 government-owned entities and subsidiaries. As its scope expanded, so did its workforce, and the demand for highly-specified office space increased. These offices were designed and delivered with ADAA’s mandate in mind.

The project

Working from a shell and core build, ISG fit out the offices to deliver a lateral working environment which included 236 closed workstations, CEO suite, meeting rooms, break out areas, a library and majlis – all located on one floor.

This project posed significant challenges for the team, as the construction of the main building was incomplete at the time of ISG’s mobilisation in September. As a result many critical systems were either not yet installed or commissioned.

ISG had to repeatedly restructure its fit out programme to work around the delayed main construction works. In close coordination with the client, ISG completed some of the main contractor’s civil engineering works, to enable the delivery of its own fit out scope.

The project was completed in November 2018, following a fast-track, 15-week programme to have it completed before the UAE National Day celebrations on 2 December
