Paul Cossell - ISG

The 2019 Building Awards was set to be a big night for ISG, as we headed into the evening shortlisted under two prestigious awards – Major Contractor of the Year (over £300m) and ISG’s CEO, Paul Cossell, nominated for CEO of the Year.

We’re excited to announce that Paul Cossell took home a big win on the night, named CEO of the Year – an accolade the recognises and rewards genuine excellence amongst the construction industry’s business leaders. Building Magazine invited the heads of the top 100 construction companies in the UK to nominate the CEO whose performance they had most admired over the past year – ranging from contractors, housebuilders, consultants, developers, architects and manufacturers.

The judging panel looked at the vision, business strategy, financial performance and contribution to the wider industry and built environment of the 100 candidates, shortlisting just three, which included our very own CEO.

Paul faced tough competition in the category, up against Leo Quinn from Balfour Beatty and Charlie Cornish from Manchester Airport. The judges on the night credited Paul for his belief that the industry could be better at transforming itself by learning lessons from the past and feeding them into revolutionary change for a brighter future, for both ISG and the wider industry.

Commenting on the award, Paul said: “ISG’s success is truly a credit to the 3,000 people who make up our business across the globe. I am only one of these 3,000 people. So, a massive thank you to everyone who works as part of our company. This award is a testament to the hard work, skill and talent of everyone at ISG.”
