ISG has received a fantastic nine awards at the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) National Site Awards 2018.

The nine awards included one gold, four silver and four bronze recognising a variety of sites across the UK, including leisure centre, retail outlet and school projects.

The CCS awards recognise the highest performing sites with excellent standards of consideration towards their neighbours, their workforce and the environment.

ISG’s UK Construction and Fit Out businesses were recognised, with UK Construction Northeast’s Thornaby Fire Station project in the north east of England winning gold and finishing as runner-up for the Most Considerate Site award.

The CCS site monitor described the blue light project as being “in a league of its own” with regard to community engagement, with many apprenticeships and work experience placements resulting from a fruitful relationship with two local colleges.

They also noted meticulous attention to safety being an intrinsic part of operations, and despite the project’s modest value (£1m-£5m band), it would “put many larger sites to shame”.

Isabel Martinson, executive chairman of the Considerate Constructors Scheme, said: "On behalf of the Scheme, I would like to congratulate our award winners on their success.

"Every award-winning site is a beacon of best practice – making significant strides to continually improve the image and reputation of the UK construction industry.

"The scheme is hugely proud of the efforts of these top-performing sites and we thank them for their hard work, dedication and commitment to achieve ever higher standards in considerate construction."
