Works are well underway at Ashworth 2. Our team have been on site now for some weeks, and we have established our site compound at the front of the building. If you have seen our staff round the compound or the building you may have noticed that they are all wearing photographic ID passes, which they will continue to do for the duration of the contract.
We have stripped out the mechanical and electrical systems on the third floor and demolition works have commenced with the removal of the internal walls, ceilings and floors almost complete. The existing windows are being taken out and will be replaced with ones to match the refurbished fourth floor. Following on from the completion of this phase we will start laying the new floor screed and begin the first fix works. This is where we will start to build up the interior of the floor again. The floor has been secured on each side with a door entry system for your safety, however if you want to take a look at what has happened so far we have left the glass panels in the doors in place so they can act as viewing windows.
The site is registered with the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS), which promotes best practise in our industry. We are waiting for confirmation of when the first visit by the CCS inspector will be.
