This project is for the recladding of the 13-storey East Wing building on the St Thomas’ Hospital site in central London. The existing façade is enclosed within a new glazed exterior and two new atria are also being created from the second floor up.
This fast-track project was for the strip out and reconfiguration of ward accommodation to form an endoscopy decontamination unit and two operating theatres as well as circulation areas.
Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital is one of the UK’s leading clinical PET/CT (Positron Emission Tomography coupled with Computerised Tomography) centres.
This refurbishment project was undertaken within Addenbrookes Hospital’s busy Emergency Assessment Unit. The Major Trauma Centre (MTC) is a key facility, being the designated MTC for the East of England. Up to 800 people receive major traumatic injuries in this region every year.
