Industrial placements

Our industrial placement programme has been designed to give you an insight into on-site life.

Industrial placements

Our industrial placement programme has been designed to give you an insight into what on site life is like. Working on high-profile, live projects, you’ll get the opportunity to bring the theory you are learning to life, taking real-world examples of your work back to university to compliment your studies.

This one-year programme focuses your specialism on gaining hands-on experience and mentoring from industry experts within your field – helping you to understand how to work with customers, sub-contractors and other stakeholders on a project, and gain networking opportunities to further develop your relationships with those working within the industry.

Industrial placement roles

Looking to gain invaluable experience with us? We offer placements in the following specialisms...

Technical and Building Services Management

As a technical/building services manager, you will collaborate with the site project team to ensure that all mechanical and electrical aspects of building services are designed, managed and installed correctly, ensuring the building is fully operational and delivered to the relevant standards, guidelines and specifications.

Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management

For our quantity surveyors, no two days are the same. You'll work closely with quantity surveyors on-site to help manage and track the commercial aspects of the project, negotiating costs with sub-contractors, producing value reports and supporting client changes to the project – while ensuring delivery is timely and profitable.

Construction Site Management

Working as a construction site manager, you will ensure that all site works are planned and completed in line with the programme for the project. Taking responsibility for ensuring that all work is delivered safely and to the highest quality, our construction site managers work hard to uphold health and safety standards on site and stay connected to clients; helping maintain excellent client satisfaction levels.

From directing a health and safety film to leading an ‘Open Doors’ event, every day at ISG is different.
